In the area that surrounds Richards Bay, South Africa, around 60% of the adults are HIV+ with a life expectancy of only 7-10 years from diagnosis to death.
The great missionary statesman, C. T. Studd once said, "Some wish to live within the sound of Church or Chapel bell; I want to run a Rescue Shop within a yard of hell." We could think of no better place for a “rescue shop” than AIDS-torn South Africa. There are vast physical and spiritual needs as thousands suffer and die from AIDS.
Many will face abuse or neglect. Some will be left to die alone. Our desire is to provide care for those near death in order to share the only hope these people have — the perfect hope found only in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our ultimate goal is to glorify God as Calvary Care Home brings Christ’s compassion and Christ’s gospel to those dying alone and without hope...“within a yard of hell.”
The hospice care center is open and ministering to these needy people in a Christlike way.
